Donna Aaron Obituary

With hope in the Resurrection and the promise of eternal life, we announce the passing of Donna Kay (LeVier) Aaron who returned to God on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at the age of 83.

Born on January 12, 1942, she was the daughter of John and Christene (Facemeyer) LeVier.

She married Harold William Aaron on November 23, 1962.

Donna was a dedicated parishioner of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Crates where she served many years in the Altar Rosary Society.

Donna worked many different jobs, including Rola Jensen where she met her beloved Harold. She also worked at Yeany's egg farm, NuBe Garment, Hanley Brick and several different care homes from Brookville to Limestone to Clarion. Her favorite job was at Bish's Market in Hawthorn where she was able to visit with and talk to different people all day long.

Donna was the last surviving sibling of a large family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers: Darl, Delton, Ron, Jack and John LeVier; and five sisters, Norma Steele, Lois LeVier, Berneice Spizzirri, Lorraine Shick and Sandra Boddorf. She adored her LeVier family and spent many lazy summer days camping with them and playing late night card games, laughing and picking on one another.

Later in life, Donna found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was happiest in her kitchen, preparing home-cooked meals for her family, always making sure no one left hungry. Her holiday dinners became a cherished family tradition. Outside the home, she took great pride in decorating. From flower beds to hanging baskets and garden flags, she loved to make her house look beautiful.

Donna is survived by her husband, Harold; her two sons, Mark T. Aaron and his late wife, Lori, and Michael T. Aaron and his wife, Julie; her three grandchildren, Zachary M. Carfley and his wife, Georgia, Michael J. Aaron, and Nicholas H.T. Aaron; her two great-grandchildren, June and Francis Carfley; and many, many nieces and nephews, extended family, and close friends.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. A prayer vigil service will be held at 5:30 p.m. prior to the evening visitation.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 2, 2025, at the Saint Nicholas Catholic Church in Crates with the Rev. Samuel Bungo presiding.

Interment will follow in the Saint Nicholas Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the St. Nicholas Altar Rosary Society.

"Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen."

Donna was a distant cousin since my mother was Leona Levier so I send my deepest condolences to her family. I remember Bish's store and all the places she worked. May she join my mother in heaven, and God bless her family.
