The Lord welcomed Harold William Aaron into His eternal embrace on May 31, 2025, following a life of faith, love and service.
Born on February 6, 1937, he was the son of the late Thomas Nelson "TN" and Margaret Agnes Crate Aaron.
Harold married Donna Kay LeVier on November 23, 1962. She preceded him in death two days prior to his passing.
Harold was a lifelong member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Crates, acting as a lector, a member and president of the Parish Council, and caretaker of the church and the cemetery. He devoted much of his life to the betterment of St. Nicholas.
Harold proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1959 to 1965. He also worked many different jobs, including Rola Jensen where he met his loving wife, Donna. He worked for Stahlman Coal Co., Lawrence Bros. Concrete, Blackhawk Coal Co., Miles & Son Coal Co., and Crawford Furniture. His favorite job, by far, was running the family farm in Crates.
Harold loved being outdoors, from growing fruits and vegetables in his garden, to camping with the family, to, of course, hunting, especially with his boys and grandson, Nick. He had a huge interest in antique tractors, specifically Allis-Chalmers. Animals and kids loved him almost as much as he loved them. Sports were a huge presence in his life. He always had a baseball game on the radio or tv during the season. He coached Little League baseball with his brother-in-law, Jack LeVier, and loved to follow his grandson Nick's youth baseball career from Little League through high school. He enjoyed attending high school football games for years and became a huge Steelers fan later in life. He also enjoyed talking to his grandson, Michael, about players and games.
More than just this, Harold was a kind and respected member of the community who brightened the day of all he encountered. He made a powerful impact on many people, especially those closest to him.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three siblings, his brother, Ambrose Aaron, his sister, Rita Mong, an infant sister, Theresa Carol and a daughter-in-law, Lori Aaron. Harold is survived by his brother, Daniel Aaron and his sister, Georgiean Skinner. He is also survived by his two sons, Michael T. Aaron and his wife, Julie, and Mark T. Aaron; his three grandchildren, Zachary M. Carfley and his wife, Georgia, Michael J. Aaron, and Nicholas H.T. Aaron; his two great-grandchildren, June and Francis Carfley; his beloved dog Penny; and many nieces and nephews, extended family, and close friends.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 2, 2025, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion. A prayer vigil service will be held at 5:30 p.m. prior to the evening calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial honoring both Harold and Donna Aaron will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Saint Nicholas Catholic Church in Crates with the Rev. Samuel Bungo presiding.
Interment will follow in the Saint Nicholas Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Harold's honor to the Saint Nicholas Cemetery Association or the Central Clarion Wildcat Football Boosters.
"Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen."
