August 23, 1938 - July 13, 2025
Bernard "Bernie" J. Falkner, age 86, of Lake Hallie, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at MCHS-Eau Claire ending a 20+-year battle with Mantle Cell Lymphoma.
He was born in Eau Claire on August 23, 1938, to the late Ludwig and Cecilia (Herrmann) Falkner. He was employed with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and retired in 1985. On December 26, 1959, Bernie was united in marriage to Nancy Bunch at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eau Claire; celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary last year. He enjoyed being with his family and watching the wildlife in his backyard.
Bernie is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nancy; sons, Jeff (Quinn) of Alaska and Scott of Nebraska; granddaughter, Sydnee Falkner of Arizona; grandson, Daniel Falkner of Alaska; niece, Connie Sonnentag (Zach Brokowski); many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Falkner and brother, Victor.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 21, 2025, at St. Olaf Catholic Church in Eau Claire with Father James Kurzynski officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at church. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery will be at a later date. Evergreen Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
