March 14, 1941 - July 14, 2025
Bloomer Bert F. Tozer, age 84, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems Hospital in Bloomer, WI with his family by his side.
Bert was born on March 16, 1941, at his home in Cooks Valley, Wisconsin to Elwood "Bud" and Marie (Rihn) Tozer. He was a four year football letterman, graduating from Bloomer High School in 1959. He was offered a football scholarship to attend the University of Minnesota, but instead, proudly enlisted and served in the US Air Force. After his time in the service, Bert worked as an RV Salesman at Willies RV Center in Bloomer, retiring in 2024.
Bert married Melinda Sommer and later divorced. On May 18, 1974 he married Kathy Marvin in Neillsville WI.
Family always came first for Bert. He was a strong-willed man that borderlined on stubborn. His hard work ethic was passed down to his children and grandchildren. He loved the outdoors, spending countless hours fishing, hunting, and camping. He also enjoyed a good card game and spending time with his family and friends.
Bert is survived by his wife: Kathy Tozer; daughters: Beki (Timothy) Nyberg and Renee (Scott) Grambo; son: Brent (Tessa) Tozer; grandchildren: Shasta, Drummin, Cymbal, Trent, Dalton, Cayce, Gunnar, Izibel, Charlie and Ilona; great-grandchildren: Griffin, Lauralai, Inara and one on the way; sister: Pamela Hass.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Bud and Marie Tozer; daughter: Laura Babbitt; brother: Gary Tozer and his wife, Barb; granddaughter: Courtney Babbitt, brother-in-law: Larry Hass.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bloomer with military services performed by the Bloomer VFW/American Legion. Reception will follow the service at the White Pine Pavillion.
