Bruce Ruscin Obituary
Bruce Ruscin
April 1, 1954 - September 1, 2025
Bruce Ruscin, 71 passed away peacefully at Dove Health Care on September 1. Bruce was the fourth son born to Beverly and Robert Ruscin who have preceeded him in death.
Bruce attended St Mary's grade school which was located across the street from his Spooner Avenue home. After his graduation from St. Mary's he attended Altoona High School. Bruce became interested in mechanics and helped Darrel Snyder at his small engine repair shop which was at the Snyder home, a couple blocks away. Darrel taught him his trade and Bruce could often be seen working on "side" jobs of Bruce's class mates cars in the Ruscin back yard.
After High school Bruce took a job working for Ira Judkins who owned and operated O'Klare Garbage Service. Bruce had a love of nature and after several attempts he was hired by Eau Claire County Parks System. He had several county parks he had the responsibility of keeping in shape for campers and park use.
Bruce married Lois Ruppelt in 1978 and they enjoyed camping and pontooning and being out in nature together; They were together for almost 10 years before they separated. Lois was a wonderful person and fit right in with the Ruscin clan. We all remember what fun she had when she won a pot or was the first to finish her Yatzi sheet.
Besides mechanics and the out doors Bruce had a love for computers and was skilled at repairing them. He had a system of outdoor cameras set up where he had a 360 degree view of his out buildings, garden and a apple tree that attracted deer and wild life at his Fairchild home. This was his favorite past time when he could no longer get outdoors. When he went to Dove Health Care he was still able to see what was going on at his home and its surroundings.
Bruce is survived by six brothers and two sisters. Herb (Kathy) Fall Creek, Pat -La Crescent MN, Howard -Altoona, Tom- Eau Claire, Tim (Missy) -Eau Claire, Mark (Vona) -Tacoma Washington, Ruthann Proue (Mike) Eau Claire, and Stacy Boldt -Peoria, Arizona. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. Bruce always tried to come off as a tough guy. But when the family found our sister Stacy, Bruce had the for sight to bring a rose to welcome her to the family when the family first met her. Only saw him cry once, at our grandpa Ruscin's funeral.
The family would like to thank the staffs at the Osseo Hospital and Dove Health Care of Eau Claire for their kindness and care during Bruce's final days and especially Amy who played the right songs at the right time. And yes Bruce, it was a good day for you to go home, you were ready.
A celebration of Bruce's life we be held at the Golden Spike bar and Grill at 4 pm on the 29th of September.
