Dennis M. Ruhe, 62, of Lake Hallie, died Tuesday, April 8 at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Eau Claire, WI.
Dennis was born April 2, 1963, in Chippewa Falls, WI, to Don and Betty (Bowe) Ruhe. He attended McDonell High School, class of 1982.
After high school Dennis moved down south and did seismic surveying in Texas and Louisiana. He had many stories from his time there, some of our favorites including him bringing an alligator to Terry & Jack's house in Houston and leaving it in the bathtub overnight, or the tiger they found chained behind a gas station in Louisiana.
On August 6, 1994, he married Amy Marcott at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. On October 17, 2003, their daughter Emily was born.
He was a mechanic for many years working at Waste Management; City of Chippewa Falls Street Department; and most recently at the Chippewa Valley Airport as an employee of Great Planes Aviation.
Dennis was a friend to all and jumped in to help anyone who needed a hand. He loved hunting, fishing and golf.
He was a Brewers and Packer fan and always enjoyed watching a game on TV or in the stands. During the summer months there was always something cooking on his Blackstone, smoker or gas grill. When he was in the pool or putzing around in his garages there was always music playing.
Dennis is survived by Amy and their daughter, Emily (Caleb Manning); sister, Terry Knutson; sisters-in-law, Karen Ruhe and Sam Roberts and brother-in-law Dan (Linda) Marcott; and many aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins; and, of course, his dog Max.
He is predeceased by his parents; his brother, Rick Ruhe; mother-in-law, Marlene Marcott; and his brother-in-law, Jack Knutson.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Dennis's many long-time good friends who have been by our side as well as all family and friends that shared in our grief. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 10 at The View on Lake Wissota, from 1-4 p.m.
