Donald Berry
August 6, 1953 - February 8, 2026
Donny Berry was born August 6th, 1953, son of Clarence and Lorena (Pettis) Berry. He was raised in Augusta and graduated from Augusta High School in 1971. In high school he played football and loved to watch the game.
Donny married LeaAnn Hilmanowski and to this union his children Chris, Mike and Donna were born. Donny was also blessed with his daughter Amanda from another relationship. He later married Lana Mercer and with this marriage his daughter Michelle was born, in addition to gaining a bonus son.
Donny finally found his soul mate Paula Ellenberger and the two were united in marriage on July 17th 1999. They each gained bonus children and loved them all like their own. Donny and Paula were lucky enough to spend 34 plus years together.
Donny was a Cattle dealer in his early years for Dale Randall & Sons. He then uprooted to Florida where he worked in the cattle Parlor for a year which helped expand their business. He had a love for his home town and moved back to Augusta and later went on his own cattle adventure and eventually he and his wife Paula started a Trucking Company. They both worked hard together as a team through thick and thin and had a very unique relationship.
Donny loved his wife, sisters, brothers, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousin and his friends. Family gatherings were important to Donny, and even though he was on the road truck driving, he rarely missed any. Donny would drive all night and all day just to be there. He loved them all.
Donny had a love for family, friends, cards, games, jokes, laughing at his own jokes, Westerns, football ( GO PACKERS ) Karaoke, singing those country songs, Gardening, canning fresh Tomatoes to share with friends and family, Coon Hunting with his dogs, Canada family and friends fishing trips, shore lunch, fish fries, and his recent big hobby was Horse Pulls. Donny ran the Horse Pulls for the Augusta Lions Club which he was very proud of. He shared ownership with his horse Diesel and traveled to many pulls all over the country. Last but not least, he had a love for his Yorkie Poodles Baylee and Manny. Whenever Donny and Paula went out to eat there was an extra order of a Ribeye steak or Prime rib cut into bite sized pieces.
If you had the pleasure of knowing Donny Berry you had a great time of laughs and smiles and memories for a life time. Donny loved with his whole heart and loved everyone he met. Donny believed and often said "everyone deserves to be loved."
