Doris Schultz Obituary

Doris Bryan Schultz passed peacefully into Eternal Life on Sunday, June 4, 2023.

Doris was born on January 30, 1937 to Clifford and Ann (Henry) Moore at St. Catherine's Hospital in East Chicago, Indiana. She graduated from Hammond Technical High School attending all-girl classes focusing on administrative courses. This led to a fulfilling 40-year career with The U.S. Social Security Administration culminating with her retirement on January 3, 1994. Doris maintained friendships with co-workers long after she retired especially enjoying monthly lunches to keep up to date.

Doris met Alfred Schultz and was smitten from the beginning. After a three-year courtship they were married on November 15, 1958 at First United Presbyterian Church in Hammond, Indiana. Work took them to several states before settling in their beloved townhouse on Lana Lane in 1986. Wishing to join a church, they selected Peace Lutheran Church and became long-time members on August 17th 1986. Faith was everything to Doris which was her compass throughout her life.

Doris had an eye for fashion being sure her outfits from jewelry to shoes were all coordinated and would compliment others on their apparel-always an eye for detail!

After her marriage, Doris announced they were getting their first dog. Her research began and she selected huskies as the breed of choice. Soon their first Husky Tasha arrived-she even accompanied Doris, Al and her two brothers-in-law on fishing excursions. After Al and Tasha passed, she adopted Nikki who was her constant companion. Kiya and Naya followed to bring joy and fulfillment to her life. Her first small dog, Charlie, a Papillon, entered her home in December filling her days with happiness.

Doris was a prolific bowler who enjoyed team play over several decades-she began on a team with her mother and sister, Carol. She ended her bowling career at Wagner's Bowling Lanes in Eau Claire amassing many high games and series and out-of-town tournaments. She had an arsenal of four 18 lb balls she kept in rotation.

Doris is survived by her cousins Lee ( Terry ) Mount of Green Bay, WI ...
