We celebrate the life of Francis "Frank" Schmaltz, 94, of Eau Claire who passed away June 10 at his home. Frank was born December 23, 1930. After high school he joined the Army and served with the 45th Infantry Division as a section leader in Company M receiving the Combat Infantry Badge and UN and Korean Service Ribbons. He worked many years in Plant Operations at Sacred Heart Hospital. He enjoyed driving his motorcycle and raced stock cars at local tracks in the K-9 car. He also fished, liked being outdoors and eating his ice cream and desserts.
He was preceded in death by his parents Julius & Anna Schmaltz. As well as his brother Louis and brother in law Harold Rau. He is survived by brother Julius (Jule) & Mary Schmaltz of Melbourne, FL and sister Carol Rau of Abbotsford, WI. He is further survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. No service is planned.
