Gary Weaver Obituary

Gary A Weaver

November 18, 1956 - March 29, 2026

Gary Alan Weaver passed away suddenly at the age of 69 in Brownsville Texas while wintering with his wife of 47 years Pam (Welke), leaving many family and friends to face the future without his quick cheesy smile and dumb dad jokes.

His greatest joy was his children and grandchildren. He was many things to many people, but cheerleader and sports advisor for his grands was his favorite. There will be an empty bleacher seat at any and all the sporting events that his grandchildren play in the future. Another empty seat will be Gary's chair, where you could find him watching his beloved Hallmark movies year round.

Gary enjoyed his fantasy football league friends, his Wednesday on-line sheepshead games, sitting around a good campfire and the annual boy's fishing (optional) weekend with his family and friends. He played basketball and football at EC North where he graduated in 1975. He then attended Stout before working for Stolp Masonry.

He enjoyed coaching baseball and basketball for his children. He also enjoyed playing softball, bowling and golf during his younger years. Since retiring, his passion was the beach, the pool, getting a great tan, watching sports on TV with Pam and relaxing with friends in South Texas. His summers were spent on Lake Holcombe where he enjoyed cooking breakfast tooling around on the pontoon, maintaining the bonfire, starting beanbag tournaments (which he always won), and telling jokes to anyone who would listen.

His legacy lives on in his two children: Jason Weaver (Dana), Melissa Tarbox (Jeremy), his cherished grandchildren, Serena (Mason), Natalie, Bri (Scottie), Brody, Braxton, Graysen, and his two little princesses, Lyvia and Nora. He is further survived by his mother Marilyn (Toots) Weaver, brother Kevin (Sandi), sister Roxie Valdivieso (Eddie) and many aunts, uncles and cousins, nieces and nephews who were all special to him.

He was preceded in death by his father Alan, sister Peggy Jo Lockwood, niece Averi Valdivieso, nephew Jonathon Muse, his in-laws Peggy and Theodore Welke Jr, his friend and brother-in-law Ted Welke, and many dear friends.

Please join our family on April 12 2026 at the Brew Projekt, 1807 Oxford Ave. Eau Claire from 1 to 6 pm. Bring your favorite "Gary" story to share.

HIS LEGACY IS IN THE EYES AND ACTIONS OF THE PEOPLE HE CALLED FRIEND AND THE GRANDCHILDREN WHO ADORED HIM. WE WERE ALL LUCKY TO BE IN HIS ORBIT.
