Gerald "Jerry" T. Calkins, 75, of Chippewa Falls, town of LaFayette, died Friday, February 21 at Marshfield Medical Center in Eau Claire.
Jerry was born August 25, 1949 in Chippewa Falls, the son of Robert and Ursula (Henkes) Calkins. He worked for Chippewa Concrete Services for many years and he took pride in being the first employee. After retirement, Jerry enjoyed working security for Rock Fest and Country Fest for many years. Jerry worked hard all his life and played harder.
On July 1, 1968, Jerry married Mary Sweitzer in Menominee, MI.
Jerry was a member of the Knights of Columbus Goldsmith Council #974.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Mary; one daughter, Dawn (Bryon) Nesvacil of Chippewa Falls; one brother, Roy (Bill) Calkins of Chippewa Falls; two grandchildren, Sawyer (Brianna) Nesvacil and their two sons, Colter and Brooks and Matthew (Jessica) Nesvacil and their son, Huxton.
Jerry was preceded in death by one son, Gary Calkins, in infancy; his parents; and one sister, Julie Albrecht.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 1 at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls.
Per the family's request there will be no services.
