After a life well lived, Jack Furtney, age 75, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on March 26.
An avid outdoorsman, Jack loved hunting and fishing, especially fishing in South Dakota. He also had a passion for gardening, spending countless hours tending to his tomatoes and beans. Jack was also well known for his delicious homemade soups and pickles.
Although he often joked about being shy, but anyone who knew Jack knew he loved conversation and connecting with others. He always brought a smile to everyone's face.
Jack's greatest love was his wife, Kathy Furtney. Their deep love was evident throughout their 54 years of marriage. Jack's eyes would light up whenever he was with Kathy. He was also a loving father to Jessica (Ryan) Wiltgen and Eric (Charles Langland) Furtney, and a proud grandfather to Alyssa (Frank Coppola), Austin, and Michael (Allycia Tran) Wiltgen. Jack delighted in sharing the successes of his children and grandchildren, and he was immensely proud of all their accomplishments.
Jack's adventurous spirit and enthusiasm will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
In lieu of gifts or flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
