Jacquin A. Bohlig, 92, of Eden Prairie, made her final journey to peace on September 27 after a long and courageous fight with illness.
"Jackie" was born on May 1,1931 to Vallie and Ben Carlson in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Following her graduation from Minneapolis Central High School, she married Roger C. Bohlig also of Minneapolis on February 10, 1950. Their marriage of 49 years was the main priority in their wonderful life together, until Roger died in 1999.
Together they raised four children:
Linda L. McCombs (David) of Tampa, FL, Gregg R. Bohlig (Barb) of Eau Claire, WI, Terry D. Bohlig (Jody) of Big Lake, MN and Kevin C. Bohlig (Dawn) of Eden Prairie, MN.
Jackie is survived by eight grandchildren, Molly, Amanda (Elliot), Bethany (Scott), Carrie (Craig), Nicholas (Jen), Jacquee (Mike), Andy (Nicole) and Betsy (Adam); Step-grandchildren Matthew (Jessica), Jennifer, Sophia, Lorenzo, Angelina and Sophia and nine great-grandchildren Merritt, Rosalie, Ellis, Elouise, Augusten, Josephine, Hadley, Brooks, Avery and Kayla. Her children were the joy and pride of her life.
For 92 years, Jackie managed a busy family and also worked until she was 86 years old in the administrations of the Internal Revenue and Social Security offices. She loved both jobs!
Jackie was also a devoted partner to her husband's 30-year State Farm career, using her skills to support the many agents, wives and children of that family.
Jackie and Roger began their journey in Minneapolis. Career opportunities took them to Eau Claire, WI from 1961 to 1971 and then to Bemidji, MN for 25 years, after which they returned to the Minneapolis area.
During her life, Jackie was always ready for adventures starting with early family and neighbor camping trips, followed by vacations with family to her beloved Maui, Europe, Australia, Florida, and Jackson Hole. She also played great tennis and loved hunting and fishing trips to Northern Minnesota, Canada and many Western states with Roger and her boys. Jackie was a beautiful person, inside and out. She was resourceful, creative, smart, talented and always the biggest supporter of family and friends. Her communities will greatly miss her.
Jackie is further survived by her brother Donn Carlson and her sisters Sandra Berry and Nancy Pudas, and special brother-in-law Pete Pudas and nephews Grant (Annie) Pudas and Jon (Shayna) Pudas, and other nieces and nephews in CA and MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Judith Compton and grandson Christian Seppa, parents-in-law Howard and Hulda Bohlig, brother-in-law James Bohlig and sister-in-law Joyce Strouts (William).
A memorial service will be held at Flagstone of Eden Prairie, 8350 Commonwealth Dr. at 11:00 on October, 28th. Details available on The Cremation Society of Minnesota website (https://cremationsocietyofmn.com/about-us/edina/)
