Jean Franson Obituary

Jean Ann Franson, 90, of Eau Claire, passed away Saturday October 12, at Hayward Health Services with family by her side. Due to failing health, she had resided at the nursing home since November of 2023.

Jean Ann was born July 23, 1934, to Leonard and Merle (Heath) Zhe in Osseo, WI. She grew up in the Osseo area. She married the love of her life, Gene Franson, on March 27, 1954, and they celebrated 70 years of marriage. Jean Ann was an excellent cook, baker, and gardener and if anyone had a question about any of those, you just contacted Jean Ann for advice. She was always ready and willing to help you.

She is survived by her two sons, Danny (Nancy) of Hayward, WI, and Wayne (Tammy) of Eau Claire, WI, four grandsons; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; son, Jerry; brother, Gilmor Zhe; sister, Virginia Kolstad; and her parents.

Services will be held Friday October 18 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Eau Claire, WI. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. with the funeral service at 11 a.m. Internment will follow a luncheon at the church.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hayward Health Services for their loving and professional care. The family is assisted by Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta.
