Jeffery Stone

September 17, 2025

Jeffery "Jeff" Stone, age 65, passed away at home on September 17, 2025. He was born on September 6, 1960, in Eau Claire, WI, the son of Norman and Shirley (Sokup) Stone.

Jeff spent 27 wonderful years with the love of his life, Beth, and they were married on May 3, 2003. Known for his easygoing nature, Jeff had a gift for conversation and could strike up a chat with anyone – even total strangers at the grocery weren't safe. His warmth, quick wit, and ability to connect made everyone feel like a friend.

Jeff had many passions. He loved cooking and baking, spending time outdoors, fishing with Beth, and hunting with his sons. He enjoyed antiquing and going to thrift sales-always on the hunt for his next project. Whether he was working on home improvements or finding ways to stay busy, Jeff approached life with energy and creativity. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his cherished dog, Sam.

Jeff worked at the Steakhouse and Lodge in Hayward, WI, He had a steady presence in the kitchen and Jeff had a way of making hard work look easy, always willing to teach and lend a hand. He was a natural mentor.

Jeff is survived by his beloved wife, Beth; his children: Craig "Bubba" (Melissa), Jessica, Sean (Michelle), Anthony "Hammer", Tony "G" (Andi); his siblings: Steve, Mike (Diane), Norma (Steve), Greg, Kim, and Tara (Dale); his mother-in-law, Marilyn; brothers- and sisters-in-law: Mark (Emily), Sherry (Doug), and Shelley (Paul); as well as many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Shirley Stone; his sister, Barb; sister-in-law, Becky; and father-in-law, Robert ("Bob").

A celebration of Jeff's life will be held at a later date.
