John W. Rubesch, 79, of Chippewa Falls, died Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Mayo Clinic Health System – Eau Claire.
John was born February 9, 1946 in Chippewa Falls, the son of Leonard and Delphine (Olson) Rubesch. He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1968. He worked on the railroad, Uniroyal, Romeis Apartments and the Career Development Center and was a member of Notre Dame Church.
John is survived by one son, Sean (Julie) Rubesch of Brooklyn Park, MN; one daughter, Sarah Lee of Florida; significant other, Bernice Mayer of Chippewa Falls; he also raised Samantha and Amanda Mayer; one brother, Leonard, Jr. (Sandy) Rubesch of Minong; two sisters, Karen (Terry) Sherman of Eleva and Connie (Bill) Scheu of Osceola, WI; and three grandchildren, Samantha, Riley and Zachary.
John was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Shirley (Dave) Kramschuster.
A service will be held at Noon Thursday, October 2, at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls Inurnment will be in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner at a later date. Military rites will be conducted.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Noon on Thursday, October 2 at the funeral home.
