Juel C. Smith, age 88, died January 20 at Care Partners in Altoona, WI.
Juel was born September 19, 1936, in Dunn Co. to Thorvold and Clara (Holte) Smith.
On December 12, 1959, Juel married Janice Anderson. She preceded him in death in 2003. On June 28, 2009, Juel married Kathy (Engstrom) Nelson. In his younger years, Juel delivered bottled milk for Dolly Madison Dairy in Eau Claire and later drove truck for the co-op in Sand Creek. He participated in the Dunn County Barbershop Harmony Singers for 50 years and was actively involved with ARC of Dunn County.
Juel is survived by his wife, Kathy Smith; daughter, Nancy (Bruce) Tibbett; son, Scott (Debbie) Smith; stepchildren, Jana Nelson and Eric (Camille) Nelson; grandchildren, Max (Morgan) Tibbett, Roman (Jayda) Tibbett, Caifen Smith and Sydney Nelson; and sister, Leitha Swanson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thorvold and Clara Smith; first wife, Janice Smith; children, Julie, Bradley and Melanie Smith; sisters, Jeanette Schwab and Thelma Waterhouse; brothers, Alfred, Curtis, Roger, and Steven Smith.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 25 at New Hope Lutheran Church in Sand Creek. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the church. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer, is assisting the family.
