Mac Turner Obituary

Early Sunday morning, August 11, the world lost an extraordinary, loving, caring, wonderful man.

Mac Henry Turner was 83 years old. He left this world suddenly at Black River Falls Memorial Hospital.

He has now rejoined his loving wife, Rose Marie.

Mac was born in Black River Falls on May 6, 1941, to Harriet and Maurice Turner. He grew up mostly in Black River Falls. Mac graduated from Black River Falls Senior High. After high school, Mac served our country in the Army. When he returned from the Service, he attended college at Eau Claire University.

Mac worked as an accountant for over 40+ years for Control Data (Chippewa Falls & Twin Cities), Cray Research (Chippewa Falls) and Hoffman Construction (Black River Falls).

Mac and his wife Rose have been friends and lovers for over 60+ years, beginning with their engagement on Soupbone Rd. They married on February 29, 1964 in Black River Falls. He and Rose have lived in Black River Falls; Apple Valley, MN; the Twin Cities; Chippewa Falls; and Lake Hallie.

Mac wanted to be sure that his whole family and friends knew that he loved them all dearly. He supported them throughout their lives with love, constant support and encouragement. Mac and Rose's children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were their pride and joy.

Mac has many things he enjoyed doing, his favorite was spending time with his Rose Marie. He was in a softball league, bowling league, sports car club, played golf for many years, loved taking care of their pool at the Hallie house and spending time with family and friends. Most recently he enjoyed working with genealogy/ancestry research, finding the graves of family members and cleaning up all the old gravestones.

He also loved playing cards, he and Rose were in a card club while living in Chippewa Falls with friends from Cray. He also enjoyed playing cards up at The Hub @ Lunda Center, plus traveled to Cataract and First and Last Chance.

Mac is survived and deeply missed by his two daughters, Tia Turner (Leon) & Kim Turner/Walker. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jesse, Justin, Brittany, Tyler and Dalton; great-grandchildren, Zion, Raven, Griffin and Delaney; his sisters, Ann Turner, Kay Turner and Brother Ian (Marge) Turner; sisters-in-law, Joyce (Lee) Turner, Coreen (Marvin) Zeman, Florence (Dick) Bedward, Beatrice (Don) Strittmater, Jane (Rick) Scallen; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Harriet Gilbertson and Maurice Turner; mother- and father-In-law, Irwin & Elnora Avery; brother, Lee Turner; brother-in-law, Marvin Zeman; nephew, Carl Zeman; and nieces, Camille and Brenda Strittmater.
