Margie Carol (Wingad) Flaskrud, 86, of rural Eau Claire, passed away peacefully at Dove South, after a short stay, due to heart failure on Friday, April 26 with family by her side.
She was born to David & Zelda (Brixen) Wingad on November 18, 1937 in Eau Claire. She married Charles Flaskrud on October 23, 1954. Together they farmed and raised five children. She was an excellent seamstress, sewing and altering many formals for weddings and proms as well as clothing for her children and grandchildren. She was known for her bread and cookies she baked, as well as meals she would cook for everyone as it was always delicious! She loved spending time with family and friends. She and Charlie enjoyed gardening and hosted many large picnics and corn roasts at their farm. She taught Sunday school for 22 years at Zion Cleghorn and was currently a member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Charlene (Wes) Vlcek, Carolyn (Dan) Kinderman, Carla (Bruce) Stabenow and Brian (Jeanne) Flaskrud; grandchildren, Paula (Peter) Johnson, Pamela (Getty) Pierre, Matt (Tania) Vlcek, April (Jake) Johnson, Jessica Bertoni, Amelia (Curt) Baskin, Aaron (Abby) Aldrich, Andrew (Jill) Aldrich, Raechel Flaskrud, and Charles Flaskrud; step-grandchildren, Eric (Jerilyn) Kinderman, Heather (Charles) Wagener, Holly (Matt) Seeger, Jonathan (Kaila) Stabenow. Also 22 great-grandchildren, 10 step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sisters Kathy Knudtson, Judy Marquardt, and Janet Heister; sisters-in-law Grace Haas and Joyce Hazen; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She is further survived by a son Brent Flaskrud and his family.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Charles; a stillborn son; her parents; sisters Donna (& Dick) Schmidt, Audrey (Gary) Erickson and Maureen Wingad. Also brothers- and sisters-in-law Willy & Gladys Flaskrud, Evelyn & Don Goshaw, Geanetta & Howard Schmidt, Edna & Murray Forsvall, Dorothy & Chuck Wilson, Raymond & Gladys Flaskrud, Paul Haas and DeWayne Hazen.
Services will be held at Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta on Friday May 10 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jen Barnet officiating. Visitation from 4-7 Thursday, May 9 and one hour before service on Friday at the funeral home. Burial following service at Rest Haven Cemetery.

I’m so very to hear that Marg passed away. She was the most wonderful baby sitter for my children and my grandson. I visited her at home last Fall and we had a wonderful time catching up on the news.
