Mary Rae Hoepner, née Tyler, passed away peacefully on September 1 at the age of 79, in her hometown of Eau Claire, WI.
She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family and friends.
An alumna of Eau Claire High School, Mary Rae had a successful career in interior design, where she brought beauty and comfort to many through her work at Walker's Decorating, Inside Lines, and Dayton's.
She had a strong commitment to her faith, as she was a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She used her talents to help decorate the sanctuary for the holidays, taught Sunday School and loved to attend Bible study with her church circle.
Mary Rae was renowned for her love of reading and her active involvement in caring for bluebirds at Hickory Hills, and creatively coloring pictures that she loved to give as gifts.
She also enjoyed watching the Brewers play, never missing a game.
Her literary passion was evident in her personal life as she penned numerous poems and always held onto the dream of becoming a writer. This creative spirit was a source of inspiration to others.
She leaves behind a loving family who will miss her dearly: son, Randall Hoepner and his wife, Melissa; daughter, Melinda Wright and her husband, Brad; grandchildren, Joshua Hoepner (Emily Murphy), Marissa Hoepner (Graham Teal), Emma Wright, and Hannah Wright; brother, Bob Tyler; sister-in-law, Marge Tyler; sister-in-law, Jane Hoepner; and brother- and sister-in-law, Darrell and Karen Hoepner.
Mary Rae was preceded in death by her husband, Larry R. Hoepner; her parents, Ray and Phyllis Tyler; and brothers, Thomas and Timothy Tyler.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1314 E. Lexington Blvd. in Eau Claire, with Pastor Patrick Patterson officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, September 9 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral & Cremation Services, 814 1st Ave., in Eau Claire and again one hour prior to the services Tuesday at the church. Burial will be held in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire.
Arrangements for Mary Rae are being handled by Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Mary Rae's memory will be cherished in the hearts of those she touched with her warmth, kindness, and enduring spirit.
