Mitchell L. Solie, age 57, died Wednesday, October 16 at his home in Eau Claire, WI. Mitchell was born February 24, 1967, in Red Wing, MN to Dale and Mavis (Welke) Solie.
He spent his childhood in Augusta, WI on his family's farm. Mitchell enjoyed fishing in the creek and showing everyone fish he caught. Mitchell had a love for animals and showed cattle in 4-H growing up.
Mitchell enjoyed going to school and being around people. His love of '80s rock music, including the "big hair bands" carried into adulthood and he listened to this music to the end. Mitchell was very kind hearted and touched the lives of many people throughout the community.
Mitchell's family, especially the nieces and nephews, were very important to him and he loved them all very much.
Mitchell is survived by his mother, Mavis; his siblings, Missy (Timothy) Holmes, Danny (Anne) Solie, and Doug (Mary Melcher) Solie. He is also survived by five nieces, two nephews, and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale.

Mitchell will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of working with him and being part of his life.
A memorial service will be held at Stokes, Prock and Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona on Tuesday, October 29 at 11 a.m. A luncheon to follow. Internment will take place at the West Lawn Cemetery, Augusta, WI.
Cremation Society of Wisconsin, Altoona is assisting the family. Online condolences may be shared at cremationsociety-wi.com.
