In Loving Memory of Norma Jean (Bergh) Christopher Celebrating the Life of a Cherished Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Norma Jean (Bergh) Christopher, on Tuesday, November 11th, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Born on a farm in rural Eau Claire on March 30, 1928, she was the daughter of Allen and Gladys (Shock) Bergh. Norma departed peacefully, surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy of strength, hard work, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Christopher, and her brothers, Roger Bergh (Beryl), Owen Bergh (Ardell) and granddaughter Nicole Swartz. She is survived by her children, David Christopher (Diane), Elizabeth Christopher Goins (Bill), and Annie Christopher McGee (Greg); her grandchildren, Noah Christopher, Lindsay Rivard (John), Samantha Miller (Alec), Louie McGee, and Carmella McGee; and her greatgrandchildren, Brodie Rivard, Adley Miller, and Joanna Miller.
Her Life and Legacy
Born with a strong spirit and a compassionate heart, Norma devoted her life to family, education, and community. Her home was always open and filled with laughter, stories, and good conversation. A lifelong learner and educator, she served as a librarian in Elk Mound, WI, where she inspired curiosity and a love of reading in countless students.
Norma was a proud graduate of St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, where she and Boyd began dating and were later married. After teaching in Iowa early in their careers, they returned to Eau Claire to build a home and family.
A Loving Mother
As a mother, she taught by example, instilling the values of honesty, hard work, and empathy. Her steady encouragement and quiet strength shaped her children's lives, helping them grow into the people they are today. She celebrated their triumphs, offered comfort in times of challenge, and always believed in their potential.
A Cherished Grandmother & Great Grandmother
Norma's grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. She shared with them her stories, laughter, and traditions that will live on for generations. Her warmth, hugs, and generous spirit made every moment together special.
Remembering Her
Norma will be remembered for her generosity, intellect, and enduring faith in family. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she is no longer with us in person, her love continues to inspire and guide us every day.
Celebration of Life
Honoring her wishes, there will be no formal visitation or funeral service. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Norma's life in their own way and are welcome to reach out to share memories and stories of her remarkable journey.
While we grieve her loss, we find comfort in the beautiful moments we shared and the lasting impact she made on our lives. She will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
Rest in peace, dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Your love remains our guiding light.
