Philip A. Duzy
September 3, 1941 - October 1, 2025
Philip Allen Duzy, age 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, surrounded by family at The Neighbors of Dunn County in Menomonie, Wisconsin.
Phil was born to Casey and Edna (Coey) Duzy on September 3, 1941 and was the oldest of three sons. He grew up in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, with a few formative years spent in Alaska. He graduated from Ladysmith High School in 1959.
Phil married Karen Hoiby, and together they had three children: Cheryl, Bruce, and Jeff. After their divorce, Phil later met his soulmate, Arlene Ader. They were married and shared 46 beautiful years together.
A dedicated tradesman, Phil worked as a plumber and owned his own business for several years. He was a proud member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 434. His career took him and Arlene to Florida, where he worked on the Epcot project at Disney World.
Later, they returned to Wisconsin to enjoy their retirement. As snowbirds, Phil and Arlene spent half the year in warmer states Arizona, Texas, and Florida where they built a community of lifelong friends.
Phil had a deep love for riding his Harley and was known for his exotic birds. In his younger days, he was a passionate drag racer and loved spending time at the drag strip and attending car shows.
He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed the simple pleasures in life including daily coffee at the local McDonald's, playing dice with friends in Wheeler, and regular visits to Exit 45, where all the waitresses knew his name and his order.
Phil was a quiet man, known for his quick wit, love of sunshine, and his exotic birds. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, friendship, and warm memories.
Phil is survived by his loving wife, Arlene; his daughter Cheryl (Tom) Segebrecht; sons Bruce Duzy and Jeff Duzy, all of Ladysmith; and stepdaughters Dawn (Richard) Uetz and Devy Hermann, both of Menomonie. He is further survived by three grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren, and his brother John (Gayleen) Duzy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Gary Duzy.
