April 27, 1934 - August 20, 2025

Roger G. Shilts, 91, a resident of Chippewa Falls, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Red Cedar in Menomonie.

Roger was born April 27, 1934 in Chippewa Falls, the son of Austin and Anna (Pozarski) Shilts. He served honorably in the U.S. Army.

On June 27, 1955, Roger married Janet Stooldryer at St. James the Greater Catholic Church in Eau Claire. He owned and operated Chippewa Valley Siding & Roofing for many years. He was a member of St. Charles Church.

Roger is survived by his wife, Janet; children: Mark (Lynn) Shilts, Lori (Dale) McIlquham, Gary Shilts, and Carolyn (Jan) Kent; a sister, Janet Bauer. Roger is also survived by his grandchildren: Jessica Berklund, Amanda (Adam) Johnson, Jennifer (Steve) Swain, Sam (Anna) Shilts, Alex (Sam) Kent, Mitch (Briana) Kent, Zachary Kent, Alynia (Paul) Froelich, and Mariah Wirner. Roger is further survived by great grandchildren: Julia Baxter, William Baxter, Henry Johnson, Rhea and Everly Wirner, Caleb and Charlotte Froelich, Oscar and Linus Shilts, and Kade Kent.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Thomas Shilts; and one sister, Shirley Kliest.

Private family services were held.

Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls was in charge of arrangements.
