Theresa Marie Aspenson (Terry), 87, of Eau Claire, passed away August 5 after a brief illness of cancer. She was surrounded by her three children.
She was born to the late Vernon and Clara (Schmitz) Morgan, on September 10, 1935, in Sparta, Wisconsin and was the youngest of eight children. Terry graduated from Sparta High School in 1953 where she was chosen as Homecoming Queen her senior year. She went on to Business College in Madison, Wisconsin after high school.
In July of 1955, Terry married Darrel Aspenson of Ferryville, Wisconsin. After Darrel served in the Army in Fort Lewis, Washington the couple lived in Madison Wisconsin for 3 years before settling in Eau Claire. Terry worked as a dental assistant for many years before graduating from Chippewa Valley Technical Institute as a Barber's Apprentice and went to work alongside Darrel at Darrel's Barber Shop on London Road until her retirement in 1994.
Terry is survived by her three children: Cathy Aspenson (David Cox), Craig Aspenson (Pam Eberhardt), and Lisa Aspenson (John Mogensen). She is also survived by three granddaughters, Alison Thomas, Andrea Buron and Claire Cox; two great granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Darrel in 2002, her late-life companion John (Jack) Bowen in 2020, and seven siblings.
Terry was a caring soul always putting the needs of others ahead of her own. She was loved by many for her kind heart, warm radiant smile and quick wit. Terry thoroughly enjoyed the past couple of years being part of the community at the Classic at Hillcrest Greens in Altoona, WI. To honor her wishes there will be no memorial service. She will be laid to rest with Darrel in a private family ceremony. Friends and family may offer condolences online at www.hulkefamilyfh.com. The family requests any Memorials in Terry's name be made to St. Croix Hospice.
