Twylia Evelyn Gotlibson Rose, age 92, of Elk Mound, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Colfax Senior Living in Colfax, Wisconsin.
Twylia was born on July 24, 1933, in Colfax, Wisconsin, to Avil Henry Gotlibson and Gladys Teodorah Sundem Gotlibson. She attended several small country schools in the Colfax and Elk Mound area. Later in life, she earned her GED from CVTC, a milestone she was very proud of.
Twylia married the love of her life, Phillip Franklin Rose, on September 2, 1950. Together they farmed on the family farm in Elk Mound, where they raised their family and built a life rooted in hard work and love.
In addition to farming, Twylia worked at Howard Johnson's in Eau Claire as a housekeeper, Colfax Public Schools as a cook alongside her mother, Commercial Testing Lab in Colfax, and 3M in Menomonie. Wherever she worked, she formed lasting friendships.
Twylia had a warm heart and a generous spirit. She loved dogs and birds, but most of all she cherished her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, known for her kindness, her sense of humor, and her ability to make friends easily. She enjoyed bowling, quilting, and crocheting, and her handiwork and memories will be treasured by her family for years to come.
She is survived by her children: Donna Johnson (Alan), William Rose (Sheila), Julie Sarauer (Gene), Gregg Rose (Rhonda), Diane Rose, and Donald Rose (Susan); 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren, with one more expected in November; her brother, Delaine Gotlibson (Natalie); and her sister-in-law, Joan Gotlibson, many nephews, nieces and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip; son, Ronald; daughter-in-law Jill; infant great-grandchild, Grayson Skroch; brothers, Gordon (Helen) and Roger, brother-in-law, William Rose; and sisters-in-law, Marvel (Philip) Brown, Alma (Frances George) Schumacher, and Ethel (Harold) Grambo.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at the Colfax Lutheran Church in Colfax, WI. Visitation will be held at the Church on Tuesday from 10:00 - 11:00 am. The burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Colfax, WI. Sampson Funeral Home in Colfax is assisting the family.
