Anna Katherine "Katie" Kline Kromer, 84, of Kittanning, died on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016, at the Armstrong County Health Center surrounded by her family.
She was born on Sept. 7, 1932, in Pattonville, the daughter of James Alexander Peters and Nettie Elizabeth (Hutchison) Peters.
Katie was a lifetime resident of the area and was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church. She worked for many years as a nurse's aide at the Armstrong County Health Center. In her younger years, Katie belonged to both, the Ford City and Kittanning Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. Recently, she enjoyed having lunch and playing BINGO at the Worthington Senior Center on Wednesdays. Baking was one of her favorite hobbies and she was known for her delicious banana nut bread. Katie also loved reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband, William F. "Bill" Kromer Jr. of Kittanning; four sons, Marlin W. "Junior" Kline and wife, Nelda, of Kittanning, Dennis R. Kline and wife, Debbie, of Kittanning, Danny E. Kline and companion, Kathy Thiel, of Kittanning, and Douglas A. Kline and wife, Karen, of Latrobe; a daughter, Debbie and husband, Jim Shirley, of Kittanning; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Dennis J. Rupert of Ford City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Katie was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Harry R. Kline Jr.; a daughter, Denise D. Rupert; infant daughter, Theresa Lynn Kline; four brothers, Richard Peters, John Peters, Raymond Peters, and Roger Lloyd; and two sisters, Sarah "Gerry" Lloyd, and Jean Wyant.
Relatives and friends may visit from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016, at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning. Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at the funeral home with the Rev. Edward A. Walters officiating. Burial will be in West Glade Run Presbyterian Cemetery in East Franklin. Contributions may be given to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses. Arrangements are being handled by the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.
