Donald P. "Don" Cox, 76, of Kittanning, Pa., passed away on Monday, Nov. 1, 2021, at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights, Pa.
He was born on Dec. 24, 1944, the eleventh of twelve children born in Troy Hill, Pa., to Jonathan E. and Wilda L. (Hallowell) Cox.
Don was a lifetime resident of the Kittanning area, and a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ. He belonged to the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and retired in 1991, as a salesman with Pepsi after 30 years of service. Don enjoyed hunting with his kids, woodworking and was an amateur photographer,who took his camera with him everywhere.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn A. "Kathy" (Salsgiver) Cox, whom he married on Sept. 6, 1963; three sons: Donald P. Cox, Jr. and wife, Missy, of Pittsburgh, Scott A. Cox and wife, Bobbi, of Kittanning and Randal E. Cox and wife, Cassandra, of Ford City; grandchildren: Austin B. Cox and girlfriend, Zoe Suppa and Brooklyn D. Cox and fiancé, Zak Croyle; great-granddaughter, Scarlett Suppa; brothers, Thomas Cox and wife, Sandy, of Kittanning, and Michael Cox and wife, Linda, of Kittanning; his sister, Janet Johns, of Craigsville and his sistersin law: Doris Cox, Shirley Cox, Diane Cox, Annie Cox and Deanne Cox.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers: Wilbert "Wib" Cox, David Cox, Sr., Daniel Cox, William Cox, Robert Cox and Jack Cox and wife, Mary; and two sisters, Effie Arbuckle and husband, Blair, and Nan Clark and husband, Rex.
Family and friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021, at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning, Pa.
A private family service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021 at the Bauer Funeral Home.
Interment will be Kittanning Cemetery, Kittanning, Pa. 16201.
Memorial contributions may be made in Don's memory to the Alzheimer's Association of Great Pittsburgh, 1100 Liberty Ave., Suite E-201, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 or to Orphans of the Storm, PO Box 838, Kittanning, PA 16201. Arrangements are being handled by Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.
