Elizabeth "Becky" Teresa (Turicik) Dietz, 75, of Carlisle, died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness. She was born Aug. 13, 1933, in Ford City, the daughter of the late Andrew and Catherine Blascek Turicik. She was a 1951 graduate of Ford City High School and worked many years in Ford City and Carlisle. She was a devoted member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carlisle, and formerly a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ford City. Elizabeth was employed by PPG in Ford City as an administrative secretary, by C.H. Masland and Sons as an executive secretary and by Farmers Trust Company as the trust department secretary. Becky was affectionately known to her grandsons as "nanny." She enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends. Becky is survived by her husband of 56 years, Henry Dietz, of Carlisle; two daughters, Melissa Goldsmith, of Larchmont, N.Y., and Linda Patten and her husband, Daryl, of Butler; a brother, William Turicik and his wife, Jean, of Carlisle; three sisters, Mary Stefanik, of Ford City, Tillie LeBold, of Columbus, Ohio, and Jennie Sims, of Pembrook Pines, Fla.; her grandsons, Daniel and Steven Goldsmith and Nicholas and Lucas Patten; and many special nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews. Becky was preceded in death by her father, Andrew; her mother, Catherine; and her brother, Steven. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Patrick Shrine Church, 140 E. Pomfret St., Carlisle. HOFFMAN-ROTH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, will be handling the funeral arrangements.
