Janet Faykosh Obituary

Janet K. (Kiene) Faykosh, 92, of McGrann, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007. She was born April 14, 1915, in McGrann, a daughter of the late Anton and Margaret (Hileman) Kiene, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. She was an executive secretary for the Schenley Plant of the Joseph S. Finch Company, retiring in 1974 after 39 years of service. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Ford City. In addition to their home in McGrann, Janet and her late husband, Ed, owned at 50 acre farm near Brick Church. There, they raised beef cattle and riding horses. The family was home to large family picnics for many years. She is survived by her brother, Paul Kiene of Shelocta; sister, Ruth June Johnston of Canfield, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Faykosh; a brother, James Kiene; and sisters, Kathleen Coffman, Henrietta Coulter and Patricia Wingard. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, Kittanning, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with additional visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Herb Reefer of First Presbyterian Church of Ford City will officiate. Interment will be in Ford City Cemetery.
