John W. Caldwell, 67, of New Bethlehem (Boggs Township) passed away on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021, at his residence.
He was born on June 24, 1954, to Albert and Elizabeth Jane (Kammerdinner) Caldwell in Kittanning.
John was a heavy equipment operator for Apollo Gas and then a roustabout for Range Resources. He enjoyed farming, riding on his tractor, hunting, reading and watching westerns, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
John is survived by his wife, Pam, whom he married May 14, 1976; two sons: Eric (fiancée - Cammy Wardell) Caldwell, of Dayton, and Brian (Danielle) Caldwell, of New Castle; daughter, Jodi (Russell) Douthett, of Butler; seven grandchildren: Clayton Wardell, Paige Caldwell, Emberly Caldwell, Asher Caldwell,
Mason Douthett, Emma Douthett and Nora Douthett; brother, Raymond (Christine) Caldwell, of North Carolina; and sister, Debbie (Barry) Dinger, of New Bethlehem.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Mary Jane Maze.
Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021, at Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc., 724 W. Main St., Rural Valley, Pa., where the funeral service will immediately follow at 3 p.m.
Burial will take place in the Oakland Cemetery, Distant.
