Joseph Dominic Rugini Mr. Joseph Dominic Rugini, 68, of Kittanning died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at Oakland Veterans Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born Nov. 15, 1948, in Kittanning, Armstrong County, Pa., to Domenic and Ruby (Yockey) Rugini.
Mr. Rugini graduated in 1966 from Kittanning High School.
He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
During his seven years of service, Joe was an Air Armament Mechanic in the 12th Tactical Fighter Wing at Cam Ranh Bay AB, Vietnam.
Joe was a life member of the V.F.W. and had held the office of Quartermaster of the former Kittanning Lodge.
He retired as a service technician for Continental Health Equipment of Kittanning.
He is survived by a daughter, Tracy Rearick and companion Robin Bendishaw of New Salem, Pa.; two grandsons, Dustin and Devon; and two great-grandsons; five sisters, Patricia Simpson of Freedom, Pa., Elizabeth Brice and husband Leslie of Ford Cliff, Pa., Susan Fidler of Chugiak, Alaska, Paula Krammes of Reading, Pa., and Annette Normile and husband Mark of South Park, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Nancy Jo Rugini.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Joe was in my class of 1966 at Kittanning High School. He was a quiet fellow and a good guy. He will be missed by many. RIP Joe!

Another veteran lost from the effects of his Vietnam experience. Friends when young, as we both lived in the same area, and grew up same. I have been gone from Kittanning for almost 40 years, but still remember Joe very well. May he rest in peace. Mike Shepard Montana
