Mona Ruth McAfoose. Passed away on October 3, 2021 at Laguna Woods, CA. What a lady! What a sister! What a friend! As a young 90 year old, she worked-out three days per week and would flex her muscles to prove it; she would tend to her flower garden daily; and, she would easily walk several miles each day. She was known for her Black and Gold Steeler wardrobe and decor. She leaves two granddaughters, Rachel Zydonik and family, and Lisa Fritchman, a brother Ray McAfoose of Laguna Beach, and a sister Jane Griffith and family of La- Verne, CA, and the families of many nieces and nephews. She had a wide circle of longtime friends from Kittanning and Orange County. Mona was born February 21, 1931 to Lon and Amelia McAfoose. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Zydonik, her brother, Ralph McAfoose and her sister, Allene Ross. Cancer took Mona away from her "fan club," as we were known to her.
We loved Mona immensely.
She made a positive impact on many lives.
At Mona's request, her ashes were spread by a small picturesque waterfall near her Pennsylvania hometown.
Rest in peace, our dear Mona.
We love you!!
