Richard C. Hankey, 76, of Ford City, passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, at VA Butler Healthcare.
He was born Jan. 8, 1944, in Ford City, to Josephus Benjamin and Violet Mosley Hankey.
Richard was retired from Moonlight Mushrooms and was former president and treasurer of United Steelworkers of America Union No. 8025.
An U.S. Air Force veteran during the Vietnam War, he was stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Elmendorf, Alaska.
A Presbyterian, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially hunting and fishing in Canada. He also enjoyed bowling and golfing.
He was a lifelong resident of his community.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Boguslawski Hankey; daughters, April Bogdanski, of Homer City, and Melissa Ann Wingard, of Ford City; sons, Richard J. Hankey, of Butler, and Josephus Benjamin Hankey and fiancée, Whitley Gaiser, of Ford City; sisters, Mary Ellen Fox, of Arcadia, Fla., and Pamela and Ronald Painter, of North Carolina; brothers, Josephus and Donna Hankey, of Virginia, and Ted and Debbie Hankey, of Harrisburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 3-4 p.m. Friday at the Mantini Funeral Home Inc., 701 Sixth Ave., Ford City, where funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday with Pastor Joshua Webb officiating.
