Brian Ford Obituary

WALLINGFORD - Brian P. Ford, 48, of Wallingford, died peacefully at home Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Valerie Wizask (Nolan) Ford.

Brian was born in Fort Bragg, N.C., Oct. 3, 1963, a son of Judy Bonds Ford, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and the late Jon Ford, and had been a Wallingford resident since the age of five. He attended Wallingford schools and was a 1982 graduate of Lyman Hall High School. He was employed by Technical Metal Products in Wallingford. Brian was an avid sports enthusiast, especially cheering on his favorite teams the New York Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys. Brian will be dearly missed by all his family and friends for his sense of humor, impeccable manners and just being a nice guy.

In addition to his wife, Valerie; and his mother, Judy; he is survived by his brother, Steve (Lisa) Ford, of Wallingford; his stepchildren, Becky Nolan, of Oregon, Zachary Nolan and his wife, Nicole, and Adam Nolan, all of Wallingford; his sisters-in-law, Irene Wyant and Linda Berntsen, of Durham, whom Brian affectionately called "Thelma and Louise;" his aunt, Gail Unold; and his uncle, David (Darlene) Bonds, all of Florida; and his nieces and nephew, Courtney Ford, Ashley Oren and BJ Oren. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Herman and Josephine Bonds; and his paternal grandparents, Paul and Catherine Ford.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wednesday, Oct. 3, from 4 until 7:30 p.m. when a funeral service will be held. Interment will be private.
