Clarence Price Obituary

Clarence Joseph Price, 81, of Vandalia, formerly of Shattuc, passed away at his home on Friday, No. 17, 2017.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Carlyle, with the Rev. Fr. George Mauck officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Carlyle, with full military honors accorded. Visitation will be held from 8-10:45 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials: Masses or donations to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Carlyle or Mother of Dolors Catholic Church in Vandalia, or donations to Fayette County Health Department Hospice or donor's choice. Mr. Price was born on Dec. 3, 1935, in New Baden, the son of Clarence and Edna (Walthes) Price. He married Ruth Toeben at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden on June 3, 1958.
Clarence was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp and a member of Mother of Dolors Parish in Vandalia. He owned and operated Clarence Price Electrical in Shattuc before retiring. Mr. Price was also a member of the Shattuc Lions Club for more than 40 years.
He is survived by his wife; son, Bernard (Kelly) Price of Carlyle; daughters, Barb (Scott) Untersee of Casa Grande, Ariz., Brenda (Dee) Evans of Hoffman, Beverly (Rex) Blanding of Brentwood, Mo., Bonita (Kelvin) Boehne of Centralia, Becky (Gerard) Luebbers of Carlyle, Beth (Steve) Jones of Pendelton, S.C., and Belinda Price of Vandalia; 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brothers, Norman Herzing and Paul (Judi) Herzing, both of New Baden; sister, Norma (Don) Krohn of Trenton; and in-laws, Mary Ann Poettker, Theresia Herzing, Myron (Betty) Mugele, Pat (Floyd) Sudholt, Bernard (Joan) Toeben, Jean (Ron) Gori, Kathy Lloyd and Chip (Barb) Haag.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Pearl Allen and Shirley Wessel; mother- and father-in-law, Dorothy and Bernard Toeben; and in-laws, Tom Allen, Arnold Wessel, Ray Herzing, Jim Poettker and Judy Haag.
