I´ve known For 55+ years when his oldest son Bob Jr. and I were classmates at LHS `69. Young Bob was a great student, athlete and citizen. The Van Horn family was new to Leavenworth and Bob jumped in head first in support of the schools and community! He was everywhere... sporting events, school activities and all else that needed support and a helping hand. What a treasure!. He and his family leave an incredible legacy to the Leavenworth and military communities. Rest easy my friend!!

LTC Van Horn was always a mentor and friend to me. Even in his later years he would pick me out in a crowd to speak with. My sincere condolences to his children who were all good friends. Your Dad will be greatly missed.
