I met Donna just out shopping one day.
We kept bumping into each other in different stores and we decided to exchange numbers to advise each other of the sales. We promised to have lunch, but that didn't happen. I could just tell in her spirit that she was such a wonderful person. I will truly miss her. Please be assured that nothing is wrong in God's plan even when we don't understand it. Just thank God that you were blessed to know one of his beautiful creatures. Donna was his gift to you.

I was shocked to hear of Donna's death. As a longtime freelance sportwriter covering track and field throughout the state, I came to know her very well. She always had a smile and a hug for me, and she had such a radiant smile. Donna always had a positive attitude, and it reflected on her athletes. Right now, my heart is heavy, and high school track and field will never be the same without her.

"The memory of you brings beauty to my days."
My immediate memory of Adonica is her walking down the halls of the dorm at ASU equipped with a generous smile and dressed for track practice. The world is a better place because of her presence on earth.

Coach Ferguson
It was a pleasure to have you in the lives of my girls Talkea(Kea) and Talijah(Lee-Lee). I want to Thank You very much for your words of encouragement,("Let's Go") the structured work-outs and pointers you gave them during their training. Ferg, Spencer and Chandler, we all sare so saddened and heartbroken that the rock of your lives had to leave us. Our family met Donna over eleven years ago in Smiths and she accepted us and took each one of us into your home as though we were her blood kin. She has instilled in every single person who knew her the love and equality we all seek and strive to reach in our lives. My wife and I were always treated with the upmost respect and love by her, James and the boys and often took care of the boys as though they were her own. She approached every person that way. The world has suffered a tremendous loss with her leaving us, and while I apologize for not being able to be there, know that our family's heart and wishes for condolences are with you today and every day. We all loved Donna and are here if you need us. God blessed us with her being part of our lives, so now each of us should try to take that little part of Donna and impart it on other.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Mrs. Ferguson was a wonderful, loving woman. She always saw the potential in students when they didn't see it themselves. She gave me guidance towards my college career and ALOT of scholarship papers lol. It doesn't seem like it was over 19 years ago when I met Adonica at the Rader Institute, she was a counselor and I was the weekend nurse. When we met again several years later at SSHS it was like we had been around each forever. She was the same smiling caring, loving Adonica that she was when trying to keep the pt's on track at the Rader Institute, but this time it was trying to keep the future young men and women focused and guiding them to career choices at SSHS. Words cannot express the sadness I felt when I heard of her illness and shortly thereafter of her death. Your family has been so loving, so giving and charitable to me and my boys and words cannot begin to express the sadness we feel in our hearts for James and the boys. Things will never be the same again without her, sitting next to her at Chandler's sporting events cheering him on or her telling me jokingly "track" is the way to go, your boys need to run track, or revealing to me how proud she is of Spencer and his track accomplishments but most of all her love for "Ferg" as she loving called her dear husband.Just as you all have been there for us we are here for you.
With sympathy and love,

Ferg,
My heart and can not express how hurt and sympathetic I am about the loss of a class mate, a dear friend, and sister in Christ. This place; earth, is not our home, but only a resting place before reaching heaven! Donna has only done what the rest of us must eventually do, cross over to the next dimension. However, I'm so glad that she's free to no longer suffer from this illness. Ferg, no doubt about it, she will be missed, but her spirit will forever remain in our hearts. In honor of her love for pink, she will forever be "Miss Pretty in Pink" to me.
Ferg, we are here for you, when you need that shoulder to cry on, prayer, or just a good laugh. Just know that we have your back no matter what, so all my love to you and your entire family!

I met Adonica almost 19 years ago when she was a counselor at The Rader Institute. She was hard on me but she taught me the most during my stay there and I still carry those lessons with me today. She quickly became one of my favorite counselors there! I have stayed in touch with Adonica through the years and I know that she is someone that I will never forget. My life is better for having met her and words cannot express the sadness that I feel at this moment. I will cherish the memories that I have of Adonica...one of the kindest people that I know. And that does not do her justice. To her family: I am so sorry for your loss. I pray that you may find comfort during this difficult time.

To my family, I write these words with great sadness because another loved one has left us behind. I must also say that there are many good things I can say about Donna, but one thing that truly stands out and that’s her caring attitude. I want to say thank you for opening your heart to so many students and giving them the guidance they needed to become productive adults in this cruel world. Thank you for giving them the hope and encouragement they needed to want to do better, to want to excel and be something in life. I thank you for pushing them to be the best they can be and letting them know they have what it take to make it in this world. I personally thank you for helping OUR little cousins to take that step from high school to college. We are all put here to do a job and to fulfill that it to the best of our abilities. Donna, YOU KNEW your job and you did it well. You touched lives through you caring heart. Your students loved you and your family will see how much you are loved by there presence. Now the rest of us have to discover our job and start working to be the best at what we do. We all need to learn by example and you were a great example.

Somewhere a journey begins at the end of the worldly existence we know, somewhere a path stretches over the stars, and rivers of memories flow, somewhere a silence is heard far away and the brightness of day fills the night, where the trails of life are resolved into peace when a soul finds it's way to the light. She has only gone to a better place to the one who knows us the best he took her now, so that she will have peace and eternal rest. We may think her stay was short and there just wasn't enought time but only god knows the Hills and Mountains that he wanted her to climb, so celebrate this life she lived and keep her memories strong, may it comfort you to know that your love one is now at peace. You and your family are in my prayers daily in my heart hourly in my thoughts always. Wishing this family peace and understanding in this time. My Condolences to the family....
