Columbus, Georgia - Mrs. Aletha J. Ransom, 70, of Columbus, GA passed Wednesday, June 1, 2022 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. EST Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Gaines Chapel A.M.E Church, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Nathaniel Copeland, pastor, officiating. Interment to follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 1-5 p.m. EST according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc.
Mrs. Ransom was born September 25, 1951 in Phenix City, AL to the late Luscious Smith and Geralene Brooks. She was a member of Gaines Chapel A.M.E. Church and retired from Household Financial.
Survivors include her husband, Ret. Sergeant Major John Ransom; six children, Jarrod Jones, Daryl Ransom, Jeff Ransom, Cassandra Colondres, Yolanda Ransom and Sonya Ransom; 13 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
