Columbus, Georgia- Deacon Andrew Searcy, 93, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be 2PM, Saturday, October 17,2015 at Friendship Baptist Church, where Rev. Emmett S. Aniton is Pastor. Rev. Roderick Green will be the Eulogists. Burial with military honors will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Visitation will be today from 12 Noon until 6 PM, according to Sconiers Funeral Home, 836 5th Ave. Columbus, GA.
Deacon Searcy was born May 5, 1922 in Talbotton, GA, son of the late Henry and Irene Searcy. Mr. Searcy was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church where he served on the Board of Deacons and in the Choir. He was a U. S. Army veteran.
Survivors include: his wife of 73 years, Maggie Searcy: two sons, Andrew Searcy Jr. and Henry Searcy Sr.; one sister, Irene Searcy Paul; a brother, Amos Searcy; two grandchildren, Henry (Kimberele) Searcy, Jr. and Andrea Searcy, two great grandsons, Steadman Searcy and Coleman Searcy; two daughters in law, Jacqueline Searcy and Evelyn Searcy; one nephew, Robert (Joyce) Dozier, a devoted friend, Erskine (Jo Ann) Alexander, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives.
