Columbus, GA- Mrs. Annie B. Newton 81, of 2331 Tucker Drive Columbus, GA died Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital Columbus, GA. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 29, 2016 at 11:00 am at Holsey Chapel CME Church 714 8th Street Columbus, GA 31907 with the Rev. Javon Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery Ft. Mitchell, AL. Visitation will be today from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm according to Hill-Watson Memorial Chapel Inc. at Rose Hill 2919 Hamilton Road Columbus, GA 31904. Mrs.Newton was born January 2, 1935 to the late Willie and Roxie McRae in Fayetteville, NC. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Henrietta McRae and Mary Morris, One brother Willie McRae Jr and a grandson Randy Newton, Jr. After moving to Columbus she joined Holsey Chapel CME Church. Mrs. Newton leaves to cherish her memories a devoted and loving husband, Mr. James A. Newton Sr., Columbus, GA; two sons James A. (Carolyn) Newton Jr, of Fayetteville, NC, and Randy Newton of Columbus, GA; Three daughters: Angela Newton (Otis) Hervey of Columbus, GA; Barbara (Abdo) Zacheus of Sanford, NC; Sharon Dennard of Fayetteville, GA; two sisters: Roxie J, McRae and Gloria Brown of Fayetteville, NC; seven grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, one very special niece, Ella Mae McRae of Fayetteville, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
