Columbus , GA- Barbara Ann Bunt, 80, of Columbus passed away on March 26, 2013.
Graveside services for Mrs. Bunt will be 2:00 pm, on Friday, March 29, 2013 at Parkhill Cemetery with Pastor Mark Carter officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary 4071 Macon Road Columbus.
Visitation for Mrs. Bunt will be from 5-7 pm, on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the funeral home.
Barbara Ann Bunt was born August 19, 1932 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Albert Lester and Clara Hearn. She was a graduate of Jordan High School where she also sang in choir. Mrs. Bunt had a passion for teaching. She loved children, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother "Meemee" and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Bill Bunt, a son, David Bunt and his wife Janice, a daughter, Amy Karabasz and her husband Michael, four grandchildren, David Bunt, Jr., Haley, Laura, and Kasey Karabasz, close cousins, Bill and Larry Harper, Molly Scarbrough, and Mary Ellen Blount, and her childhood friends, Barbara Marrapodi, Barbara Clark and Phoebe Jackson.

During my years as a member of the Bunt family, I always appreciated Barbara's warmth and her winsome personality. She was a jewel of a lady. My sympathies are extended to her husband "Billy", to her children and grandchildren, and to her sister-in-law, Linda Halfmann, of Texas.

I remember how she taught me how to make eggs for breakfast. I now make them for my family and all of us agree that those eggs are the best. I will always love and miss my Meemee. Love, Laura

Aunt Barbara was quite a character with a gift for telling great stories and making us all laugh. She was so proud of David and Amy and talked and her 4 granchildren, always a bragging grandmother. She loved to read her books and was thrilled when Uncle Billy bought her a kindle. We went to the movies together and discussed the recent happenings on Dowton Abbey. Aunt Barbara loved life and lived it to the fullest. I love her so much and will miss her every day.
