Phenix City, AL- Billy Earl Shores, 92, of Phenix City, AL passed away Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Gentiva Hospice in Columbus, GA.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 am EST Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Phenix City Ward with Bishop Christopher Zeh officiating. The family will receive friends at the memorial service.
Mr. Shores was born February 21, 1922 in Phenix City, AL to the late Tolbert Earl Shores and Mary Eugenia Screws Shores. He was a retired electrician and was a member of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Phenix City. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with family, watching football (especially Alabama football), working, tasking and troubleshooting any electrical situation. He looked at life with a positive approach and loved his family with a deep passion. He always wanted people to be happy and was quick with a joke or something to make you smile. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Foster Shores, a son, Richard Eugene Shores, sisters, Mary Clyde Schroder, Carol Ann Williams, Carolyn Farmer, Ruby Nell Smith, and Irene Tolbert, and one brother, Charles Shores.
He is survived by a daughter, Cathy Louise Stevens of Phenix City, AL, son, Thomas Earl Shores and wife Ava of Boise, ID, two brothers, Larry Shores and wife Mavis, and special nephew, Chuck of Phenix City, AL, and Donnie Shores and wife Nancy of Atlanta, GA.
(10) Grandchildren, (19) great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and many caring friends.

Cathy and whole Shores family:
My sincerest condolences on the passing of Billy. I know that he will be missed dearly. We had a terrific neighborhood to grow up in, and Billy was a part of that great neighborhood. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this trying time. May God be with you always.
