Bishop Craig Obituary

Bishop Lewis M. Craig Sr. April 10, 1914- March 2, 2008 COLUMBUS, GA— Bishop Lewis M. Craig, Sr., of 931 Valley Forge Road, Columbus, passed Sunday at the Canterbury Nursing Home in Phenix City. He was 93 years old. Born in Russell County, AL on April 10, 1914, Bishop Craig was the son of the late Lindsey and Adele Bigham Craig. He was a resident of Atlanta, GA for over 40 years where he was a fireman with Southern Railroads and a carpenter. He was a Bishop in the holiness faith. He was preceded in death by a son, Lewis Craig, Jr. Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Dolly Craig of Columbus; five Alphonso Craig (Clarissa) of Jonesboro, GA, Brinson Jones (Lisa) and Bruce Jones of Las Vega, NV, Jimmy L. Craig (Sylvia) of Acworth, GA and Lindsey Craig of Atlanta; five daughters, Sharon Craig and Anita Jones of Columbus, Kathleen Thomas of Scottsdale, GA, Diane Bailey of Las Vegas and Dorothy Dean (Earnest) of Atlanta; 24 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial Services for Bishop Craig will be Saturday, 1:00 PM at Wynnton Hill Baptist where Rev. Bruce Alford is pastor. Rev. Albert Suggs will officiate. Arrangements entrusted to the staff of Progressive Funeral Home, Inc.
