Columbus, Georgia - Mrs. Blanche Orr Ross, 94, of Columbus passed on Monday, June 3, 2024 at her residence. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Greater Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 3000 12th Avenue. Rev. Dr. Marcus Gibson will be officiating. Interment will be held in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL according to the Charles E. Huff's International Funeral Home. A public viewing will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home located at 927-5th Avenue, Columbus.
Mrs. Blanche Ross was born on August 29, 1929 in Lagrange, GA to the late Frank Orr and Annie Smith. She attended East Depot High School in Lagrange and retired as a nurse. She was preceded in death by her husband Abraham Ross Sr.; sons Gary Eugene Ross and Alvin Ross.
She leaves to cherish her many memories two daughters, Audrey Knox and Arrie Ross; two sons, Abraham Peyton Ross, Jr. (Francis) and Ronnie Ross; one daughter-in-law, Carolyn Ross; twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
