We were neighbors of Mr. Gordon & Mrs. Mary for about 10 yrs. Mr Gordon was a very sweet and loving man. He always went out of his way to help anyone in need. I can see him out doing yard work and Ms. Mary watching him from the porch. Now he can watch over her from heaven. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him. Take care of yourself Ms. Mary and family. Our love and prayers are with you all.

Love,

Flash was certainly "one of a kind".

I can never recall I time that I saw him when he didn't have a smile on his face and a kind word for all. He will surely be missed by those who have had the pleasure of knowing him. I can also say how much he treasured his beloved wife and family. He was a man who was not ashamed to let all know how much he cherished them! If only we all could be so fortunate.

Miss Mary and the family are in our thoughts and prayers. May God Bless and Keep you all.

Dear Gordon Family,

We will warmly cherish the many fond memories of Flash. We have been fortunate to have gleaned much from his wisdom. Flash was a sincere friend, a gentleman, a mentor, an advisor and a fellow Pennsylvanian. He will be sorely missed. May God Bless and Comfort all of You.

Dear Aunt Mary and family,

We were so shocked when Mom called to tell us about Uncle Bryce. I'm glad that we were able to visit you all when we did so that I had a chance to meet him (you too, of course) and find out first-hand what a really neat person he was. I'll always treasure my birdhouse lamp that he gave me before we left. Please accept our sincerest condolences on your loss. I know you will miss him terribly. We love you and will find a way to get Mom to visit you soon.

FLASH LOVED HIS WIFE AND FAMILY, BUT JUST AS IMPORTANT WAS THE FACT THAT HE ENJOYED THEM. THEIR LAUGHTER AND AFFECTION MADE YOU FEEL HAPPY JUST WATCHING THEM.

I WILL KEEP ALL THOSE NEAR AND DEAR TO FLASH IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS.

I WILL MISS FLASH, BUT WHEN I THINK OF HIM I WILL SMILE BECAUSE THEY ARE GREAT MEMORIES OF A MAN THAT ENJOYED LIFE.

Dear Mary and Family,

I too grieve with you in the loss of Flash. I often told him that he was the most compasionate manager we had. Anytime that was a loss in the JCI family you just knew that you would see Flash at the visitation or service. He was so concerned when someone was sick and made it a point to check on them. He was a wonderful friend to me and my family and we miss him already. He was my confidant for many years. I had the great privilege of talking with him on Thursday. He was laughing and joking as usual but I let him know that he was in our prayers. He said "You and Roger are always in mine and Mary's thoughts and prayers - you are Family". I felt like we were and we loved him for that and are grateful for his touch on our lives. Mary and the kids always were first and foremost in his life. What a dedicated and loving Husband and Father. May his legagy live on in his children and grandchildren. I know that is the way the old soldier would want it!

May God Bless and Keep You in His Care!

With Love,

One of the first individuals I met when assigned to Ft Gordon 13 years ago was Flash. When I met him, he was smiling and I can not remember to many times that smile was not there. A true friend, a gentlemen, a real professional, whose knowledge was freely given when asked for, and always a light hearted word for the occasion. We will miss you "Flash".

Our prayers are with the family.

I have known Flash almost the whole time I have been working at Fort Gordon. His easy manner always put you at ease from the first moment you talked to him. His presence will be dearly missed.

February 15, 2005

On Friday the 4th, Flash and I took one of our usual rides around to look at projects...I still remember clearly his parting words to "hang in there Michael, things will get better". Those words take on a new meaning to me and I hope to everyone who knew Flash, that it typifies the kind man he was. I will miss his laugh and the open door he had to listen and give advise on work and life. Is heaven full?...yes sir, yes sir, three bags full.

Mary and Children:

Shock and disbelief is what we all feel. Fort Gordon and certainly the Support Project will not be the same without our buddy Flash. Flash was loved and respected for his values and dedication to his job. Mary, what I admired and respected most about Flash though, was his dedication to his family. We used to have a saying around the office during the years that I worked for Flash - that it was God, honor, and company - that was our priority of business (Flash's words) but in my heart I knew that family was right near the top with him. You will be in our prayers but have faith that God will carry you through the days ahead. Mary, your faith is strong. Flash always admired that about you. So hang on to that. We love you and we loved Flash. I hope and pray that God has a special place for our dear friend and in my heart I know that he is going to "tweak" up heaven just a little bit. Lord, be patient with him - he is from the "old" school.

Dona - we love you too. I know it is hard to lose your father and your friend. You are in my prayers - take care of your mom. That will be a source of comfort to you.

To Mary and Family,

We express our deepest sympathy in the devastating loss of a remarkable man, a man that was truly dedicated to his family. Flash would tell us all “to go on - get the job done”.

TRIBUTE TO FLASH

Flash was our Logistics Manager at Johnson Controls; he was our backbone in providing excellent logistics support to Fort Gordon and other customers. He was a true leader, selfless, funny, smart and tough. Flash was above all a “people person’, he cared about his staff and their welfare. If you had the great fortune of meeting him, upon leaving his office you knew you had met an honorable man.

When we received the word at work that the Lord had given Flash PCS orders, our immediate response was shock, numbness and disbelief. Flash may no longer be with us physically; our memories of him will always be warmly cherished. Lord we know you have a path for him that goes beyond our world, take his hand and set him free to live with you in your eternal land, just watch out for all those requisitions he will be submitting. Flash you will truly be missed.

We salute an Officer, Manager, Dedicated Family Man, and a true American.

I live a few houses down from you on Old Wheeler Rd and work at the PX. Mr Gordon was such a nice man.

He would always honk and wave to me when ever he saw me in the front yard. He always made a point to stop and talk to me when ever he was in the PX. I am so sorry for your lose. I lost my father a couple of years ago so I know the sorrow you must be feeling now. Find strength in the Lord and he will carry you through this. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
