Phenix City, AL- Christine Inez Goodson, 87, of Phenix City, Alabama died Monday night, January 2, 2012 at her home.
She was born December 25, 1924 in Coffee County, Alabama, the daughter of George Brantley Williams
and Minnie Jones Williams. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Viron Oneal Goodson, brother Edward Williams and sister Nadine Parrish Crum.
Mrs. Goodson retired from Fieldcrest Cannon, Inc. and was a faithful member of Crawford Road Baptist
Church where she taught Sunday School and served on the fellowship committee. She loved her family,
church family, and friends and she served them well with her loving, humble spirit.
She is survived by her daughter, Judie Goodson of Phenix City. Three sons and their wives, John D. and
Teresa Tillery Goodson of Phenix City; Ronnie J. and Sandy Rash Goodson and Charles and Dorene
Gilbert Goodson, of Smiths Station. Three grandsons Kevin and Kelly Goodson of Phenix City; Brian Goodson of Smiths Station; and Justin and Rachel Goodson of Phenix City. One granddaughter, Dana Goodson and William Alday of Columbus, Georgia. Two great-grandsons, Tyler and Dalton Goodson; one great-granddaughter, Addison Alday. Three sisters, Betty and Roy Miller of New Brockton, AL; Winnie Helms of Heath, Ohio; and Nancy Wilson of Orange Park, Florida. One brother Charles L. and Yvonne Williams of Enterprise, AL. One sister-in-law Verma Lott of Brundidge, AL. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Many thanks to Dr. Lamar Carden and his office staff, the staff of Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital ICU
unit, and Vista Care Hospice.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Crawford Road Baptist Church according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431N., Phenix City, AL. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 4, 2011 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Building Fund of Crawford Road Baptist Church.

Maw Maw was a dear friend. The Christian love and and dedication that she showed even toward the end was remarkable. She made me and I am sure many others feel like one of the family. Judie.
