As a teacher at Mount Olive, I often went to Mrs. Epps for guidance. She never turned me away and always listened to anything I had to say, even the complaints. She told me repeatedly that I am a good teacher and not to worry about anything. She always gave me excellent advice. There was nothing I couldn't say to her. I always enjoyed seeing her smile when I was having a bad day. Her smile was uplifting. The school has not been the same since she has been gone. There is a definite emptiness that will not soon dissipate. My fondest memory was that of her telling me that she loved me the Friday before she passed away. I will never forget that. My prayers are with her family.

To the family of Mrs. Epps,
Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. I only met Mrs. Epps a few months ago as an intern in her class, but I feel as if I have known her for years. She always had an encouraging word to share with me. Mrs. Epps made you believe you could accomplish anything. I will miss her vivacious smile and personality, but I will carry the memories and lessons learned from her forever in my heart.

REMEMBERING CLIDEAN AS A VERY PATIENT AND MILD PERSON THAT HAD MUCH PATIENT WITH CHILDREN, THAT MANY OF US WILL NEVER POSSESS. GOD HAS CALLED HER HOME TO REST FROM ALL HER LABORS. AS I REMEMBER WHAT DAVID SAID "IF I HAD THE WINGS OF A DOVE" GOD HAS GIVEN CLIDEAN HER WINGS AND SHE HAS FLOWN AWAY TO BE AT REST IN HER HEAVENLY HOME. REST IN PEACE. TO THE EPPS AND HOWARD FAMILY MAY GOD GIVE YOU THE STRENGTH TO ENDURE AND THE UNDERSTANDING OR HIS WORK. BE BLESSED

I will rejoice and give God praise! Your memory will live on forever and forever cousin! You were always giving of yourself to others and tiredlessly did what ever necessary to help others! I remember your spending so much time teaching me to play the piano! I am blessed to have known you. God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow or sun without rain. But he did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears and light for the way. Until we meet again, rest cousin, rest! You fought your battle well!

Mrs. Epps was a kind and caring woman indeed. She was a very docile woman, as she was willing to do any thing anyone asked, and she would help anyone she could. My children and I will remember her sweetness; I will remember her laugh. My condolences and prayers go out to the family. "May the work she's done, speak for her."

Words cannot express the sadness I am feeling. When I received word that Mrs. Epps had departed from this earthly life, it seems as though I was and still am in a dream. My memories with Mrs. Epps began when LaTiffany and I met as seventh grade students at Russell County Junior High School in the fall of 1992. When I would call to converse with LaTiffany, I would often find myself engaged in conversations with Mrs. Epps about school and life. In 2004, I was afforded the opportunity to work with Mrs. Epps as a teacher at Mount Olive Elementary. I was always told Mrs. Epps was a very hard worker, and this was demonstrated to me during my tenure at Mount Olive Elementary. When I was able to move into my classroom, I was unable to decorate it because I had to attend new teacher orientation. In just one day, Mrs. Epps had decorated my entire classroom. She would often give words of wisdom and lend a listening ear. Even when I left Mount Olive Elementary, I stayed in contact with Mrs. Epps. I remember one time when I called her, she was so excited to hear from me that she hung up the telephone by mistake. In September of last year, I went to the school to visit my former students, and of course, I stopped by her classroom. Even though I feel an empty void because she is no longer here physically, I am more than blessed to have known her, for her playing a part in my life, and blessing me to have LaTiffany as a friend. She is truly a jewel too precious to forget.
