Columbus, Georgia- Mr. Curtis Crocker, Sr. 84, of 4534 Old Cusseta Rd., Columbus, Georgia died Friday, December 14,2012 at Tuskegee Veterans Administration Hospital. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Friendship Baptist Church, with Rev. Emmitt Aniton pastor officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park according to Sconiers Funeral Home, 836 5th Ave., Columbus, GA Visitation will be held 12-6 PM, Friday, December 21, 2012 at the funeral home.Curtis Crocker, Sr. was born May 6, 1928 in Lumpkin, Georgia the son of the Hattie and Samuel Crocker. Mr. Crocker joined Freindship Baptist where he served as a Deacon until his health failed. He was a dedicated servant who fulfilled his duties of devotion leadr and administering communion. He received many appreciation awards for his dedicated service. Mr. Crocker was employed at the Columbus Medical Center as a medical assistant from 1953 until his retirement in 1980. Those who will cherish his memories are, his devoted wife of 62 years, Mae Francis Crocker of Columbus, GA; sons, Gregory Crocker (Constance) of Lilburn, Georgia and Pastor Curtis Crocker, Jr. (Lesha) of Columbus, Georgia; two daughters, Judith "Nessy" Crocker of Atlanta, Georgia and Dr. Rebecca McMullen (Pastor Calvin McMullen, Sr) of Haddock, Georgia; two sisters, Mildred Dennis of Columbus, Georgia and Bettye Crocker Sims of Alexandria, Virginia; 10 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

To some he was Deacon Crocker. But to me he was "Uncle Curt". As a child, I loved to sit and listen to all the colorful stories he crafted and jokes he loved to tell. Enter into your well deserved rest "Uncle Curt". I'll see you, later.

62 years of marriage is a very long time and a huge blessing! God allowed you all to enjoy him for such a very long time, truly God is worthy to be praised! My mother was blessed to enjoy my dad for 63 years until his passing in 2010 of Alzheimer's. God is so good!
May God continue to bless the Crocker family.
