Phenix City, Alabama- Mr. Darius Dion "Dee" Mitchell, 49, of Phenix City, AL passed on May 28, 2018.
Funeral service will be held Monday, June 4, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. EST at Allen Temple A.M.E. Church with Rev. James Platt, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in West End Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, June 3, 2018 from 2:30 - 8:00 p.m. EST according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc.
Mr. Mitchell was born January 16, 1969 in Columbus, GA to Barbara Cochran Mitchell and the late Curtis Mitchell. He was a member of Allen Temple A.M.E. Church, attended Mother Mary Mission Catholic School and public schools of Phenix City, AL. He also attended Chattahoochee Valley Community College.
Survivors include his mother, Barbara Mitchell, Phenix City, AL; his wife, Tiffany Mitchell of Phenix City, AL; three daughters, Shakoata Mitchell of Phenix City, AL, Emily Mitchell and Tiffany N. Mitchell both of Smiths Station, AL; one brother, Curtis (Daphne) Mitchell of Phenix City, AL; one sister, Debra Allen of Phenix City, AL and a host of other relatives and friends.

My sincere condolences goes out to the entire Mitchell family... Darius was my classmate at Mother Mary Mission from the second through eighth grade...He was so funny always telling jokes and making all of us laugh...never a dull moment with him...Rest on friend you will be missed by many.
